Introduction to UPPSC – Uttar Pradesh State Civil Services Examination

The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) conducts the State Civil Services Examination (PCS) to recruit eligible candidates for various Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’ administrative posts under the Government of Uttar Pradesh.

UPPSC PCS is one of the most prestigious state-level competitive examinations in India. It aims to select capable officers who will play a vital role in state administration, policy implementation, and public welfare.

Candidates selected through the UPPSC PCS examination are appointed to various important administrative positions, including:

• Deputy Collector (SDM)
• Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP)

• GS IV: Ethics, Integrity, Aptitude, Case Studies

Nature of Test

• Conducted by UPPSC Board
• Face-to-face interaction

Marks Allocation

• Total Marks: 100

The final selection is based on:

• Main Examination Marks: 1050
• Interview Marks: 100

Preliminary exam marks are not included in the final merit.

• Maximum: 40 years
